"It is better to grow a child than to repair a man."

Listen, O my people, to my instruction; Incline your ears to the words of my mouth. I will open my mouth in a parable; I will utter dark sayings of old, Which we have heard and known, And our fathers have told us. We will not conceal them from their children, But tell to the generation to come the praises of the Lord, And His strength and His wondrous works that He has done.

For He established a testimony in Jacob, And appointed a law in Israel, Which He commanded our fathers, That they should teach them to their children; That the generation to come might know, even the children yet to be born, That they may arise and tell them to their children, That they should put their confidence in God, And not forget the works of God, But keep His commandments, And not be like their fathers, A stubborn and rebellious generation, A generation that did not prepare its heart, And whose spirit was not faithful to God. Psalm 77 :1-8 (New American Standard Bible)

Our last family gathering on January 18 was attended by two a short walk to Ringwood Lake, where the children climbed all over the train engine and made good use of the exercise equipment available in the park while the parents shared; we came back to our home for afternoon tea; then had a time of more sharing and prayer for each other. It was unstructured and unpressured but very helpful and encouraging. We have been asked by fellow hometraining parents to designate a monthly meeting to provide an opportunity for sharing information, discussion and prayer. This was the original intention for organizing FHC, but we have been reluctant to initiate a formal schedule before the need was a reality. The need is now present, and we plan to have a family gathering on the second Sunday of every month . This seems to be the most available time slot in all of our busy schedules. Some have asked about sharing in the cost of operating FHC. This will only be necessary when FHC triples its present membership. We are planning for that growth but not generating it ourselves. (I Corinthians 3 :7) For those who have not been in contact with us over the last six months and wish to continue receiving the FHC newletter, we would appreciate your filling out the form and returning it to us so that we can be good stewards with the Lord's time and money.
