Family to Family Forum
The following Bible study on examples of living in a "perverse and wicked generation" and overcoming the culture serve as an introduction to Family to Family Forum as one way to train ourselves and our children to emulate these Biblical examples.
THE EXAMPLE of MORDECAI
The Trap
Esther 3:1
2. After these events King Ahasuerus promoted Haman, the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, and advanced him and established his authority over all the princes who {were} with him.
The Test
Esther 3:2
3. And all the king's servants who were at the king's gate bowed down and paid homage to Haman; for so the king had commanded concerning him. But Mordecai neither bowed down nor paid homage.
The Victory
Esther 9:1
2. Now in the twelfth month (that is, the month Adar), on the thirteenth day when the king's command and edict were about to be executed, on the day when the enemies of the Jews hoped to gain the mastery over them, it was turned to the contrary so that the Jews themselves gained the mastery over those who hated them.
The Reward
Esther 8:15
16. Then Mordecai went out from the presence of the king in royal robes of blue and white, with a large crown of gold and a garment of fine linen and purple; and the city of Susa shouted and rejoiced.
Esther 9:3
4. Even all the princes of the provinces, the satraps, the governors, and those who were doing the king's business assisted the Jews, because the dread of Mordecai had fallen on them.
5. Indeed, Mordecai was great in the king's house, and his fame spread throughout all the provinces; for the man Mordecai became greater and greater.
The Honor
Esther 10:3
4. For Mordecai the Jew was second {only} to King Ahasuerus and great among the Jews, and in favor with the multitude of his kinsmen, one who sought the good of his people and one who spoke for the welfare of his whole nation.
THE EXAMPLE of ESTHER
The Trap
Esther 4:11
12. "All the king's servants and the people of the king's provinces know that for any man or woman who comes to the king to the inner court who is not summoned, he has but one law, that he be put to death, unless the king holds out to him the golden scepter so that he may live. And I have not been summoned to come to the king for these thirty days."
The Test
Esther 4:13
14. Then Mordecai told {them} to reply to Esther, "Do not imagine that you in the king's palace can escape any more than all the Jews.
15. "For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place and you and your father's house will perish. And who knows whether you have not attained royalty for such a time as this?"
The Preparation
Esther 4:16
17. "Go, assemble all the Jews who are found in Susa, and fast for me; do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and my maidens also will fast in the same way. And thus I will go in to the king, which is not according to the law; and if I perish, I perish."
The Victory
Esther 7:8
9. Now when the king returned from the palace garden into the place where they were drinking wine, Haman was falling on the couch where Esther was. Then the king said, "Will he even assault the queen with me in the house?" As the word went out of the king's mouth, they covered Haman's face.
The Reward
Esther 9:29
30. Then Queen Esther, daughter of Abihail, with Mordecai the Jew, wrote with full authority to confirm this second letter about Purim.
The Honor
Esther 9:32
33. And the command of Esther established these customs for Purim, and it was written in the book.
THE EXAMPLE of THREE YOUTHS
The Trap
Daniel 3:12
13. "There are certain Jews whom you have appointed over the administration of the province of Babylon, {namely} Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego. These men, O king, have disregarded you; they do not serve your gods or worship the golden image which you have set up."
The Test
Daniel 3:17
18. "If it be {so,} our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the furnace of blazing fire; and He will deliver us out of your hand, O king.
19. "But {even} if {He does} not, let it be known to you, O king, that we are not going to serve your gods or worship the golden image that you have set up."
The Victory
Daniel 3:24
25. Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astounded and stood up in haste; he responded and said to his high officials, "Was it not three men we cast bound into the midst of the fire?" They answered and said to the king, "Certainly, O king."
26. He answered and said, "Look! I see four men loosed {and} walking {about} in the midst of the fire without harm, and the appearance of the fourth is like a son of {the} gods!"
27. Then Nebuchadnezzar came near to the door of the furnace of blazing fire; he responded and said, "Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego, come out, you servants of the Most High God, and come here!" Then Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego came out of the midst of the fire.
The Reward
Daniel 3:27
28. And the satraps, the prefects, the governors and the king's high officials gathered around {and} saw in regard to these men that the fire had no effect on the bodies of these men nor was the hair of their head singed, nor were their trousers damaged, nor had the smell of fire {even} come upon them.
29. Nebuchadnezzar responded and said, "Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego, who has sent His angel and delivered His servants who put their trust in Him, violating the king's command, and yielded up their bodies so as not to serve or worship any god except their own God.
30. "Therefore, I make a decree that any people, nation or tongue that speaks anything offensive against the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego shall be torn limb from limb and their houses reduced to a rubbish heap, inasmuch as there is no other god who is able to deliver in this way."
The Honor
Daniel 3:30
31. Then the king caused Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego to prosper in the province of Babylon.
The EXAMPLE of DANIEL
The Reputation
Daniel 6:3
4. Then this Daniel began distinguishing himself among the commissioners and satraps because he possessed an extraordinary spirit, and the king planned to appoint him over the entire kingdom.
5. Then the commissioners and satraps began trying to find a ground of accusation against Daniel in regard to government affairs; but they could find no ground of accusation or {evidence of} corruption, inasmuch as he was faithful, and no negligence or corruption was {to be} found in him.
The Trap
Daniel 6:7
8. "All the commissioners of the kingdom, the prefects and the satraps, the high officials and the governors have consulted together that the king should establish a statute and enforce an injunction that anyone who makes a petition to any god or man besides you, O king, for thirty days, shall be cast into the lions' den.
The Test
Daniel 6:10
11. Now when Daniel knew that the document was signed, he entered his house (now in his roof chamber he had windows open toward Jerusalem); and he continued kneeling on his knees three times a day, praying and giving thanks before his God, as he had been doing previously.
12. Then these men came by agreement and found Daniel making petition and supplication before his God.
The Victory
Daniel 6:21
22. Then Daniel spoke to the king, "O king, live forever!
23. "My God sent His angel and shut the lions' mouths, and they have not harmed me, inasmuch as I was found innocent before Him; and also toward you, O king, I have committed no crime."
24. Then the king was very pleased and gave orders for Daniel to be taken up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no injury whatever was found on him, because he had trusted in his God.
The Reward
Daniel 6:26
27. "I make a decree that in all the dominion of my kingdom men are to fear and tremble before the God of Daniel; #For He is the living God and enduring forever, And His kingdom is one which will not be destroyed, And His dominion {will be} forever.
28. "He delivers and rescues and performs signs and wonders In heaven and on earth, Who has {also} delivered Daniel from the power of the lions." #
The Honor
Daniel 6:28
29. So this Daniel enjoyed success in the reign of Darius and in the reign of Cyrus the Persian.
THE EXAMPLE OF JESUS
The Trap
Matthew 22:15
16. Then the Pharisees went and counseled together how they might trap Him in what He said.
17. And they *sent their disciples to Him, along with the Herodians, saying, "Teacher, we know that You are truthful and teach the way of God in truth, and defer to no one; for You are not partial to any.
18. "Tell us therefore, what do You think? Is it lawful to give a poll-tax to Caesar, or not?"
Mark 12:13
14. And they *sent some of the Pharisees and Herodians to Him, in order to trap Him in a statement.
15. And they *came and *said to Him, "Teacher, we know that You are truthful, and defer to no one; for You are not partial to any, but teach the way of God in truth. Is it lawful to pay a poll-tax to Caesar, or not?
The Test
Matthew 22:18
19. But Jesus perceived their malice, and said, "Why are you testing Me, you hypocrites?
Mark 12:15
16. "Shall we pay, or shall we not pay?" But He, knowing their hypocrisy, said to them, "Why are you testing Me? Bring Me a denarius to look at."
The Discernment
Matthew 22:19
20. "Show Me the coin {used} for the poll-tax." And they brought Him a denarius.
21. And He *said to them, "Whose likeness and inscription is this?"
Mark 12:16
17. And they brought {one.} And He *said to them, "Whose likeness and inscription is this?" And they said to Him, "Caesar's."
The Truth
Matthew 22:21
22. They *said to Him, "Caesar's." Then He *said to them, "Then render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's; and to God the things that are God's."
Mark 12:17
18. And Jesus said to them, "Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's." And they were amazed at Him.
The Witness
Matthew 22:22
23. And hearing {this,} they marveled, and leaving Him, they went away.
Does your family know what belongs to Caesar and what belongs to God? Jesus expected the Jews of His generation to make the delineation.
The three in the fiery furnace knew. Daniel knew. Mordecai knew. Esther knew. Jesus knew. What do these have in common with each other and with us today? They all lived in a nation whose rulers did not know God, fear God, thank God, love God or obey God. Each one stood before the rulers of his or her nation and openly declared that God's laws are sovereign. We are called by God to do the same in our nation.
We not only have blind politicians trying to lead us astray, but we also have many brothers and sisters within God's family who are leading us astray. Have we been guilty of leading others astray like Saul of Tarsus because of ignorant unbelief?
Proverbs 12:26
27. The righteous is a guide to his neighbor, But the way of the wicked leads them astray.
Does your family wish to be part of the problem or do you wish to be part of the solution to our nation's dilemma? Do you and your children wish to be true statesmen and witnesses in your family, church, neighborhood, city or state? Do you wish to educate yourself and your family with the wisdom of God so that you will not compromise your faith?
II Timothy 2:15
16. Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, handling accurately the word of truth.
Dr. Herb Titus has developed a course to do just that. As a Christian with a Biblical worldview of Common Law and his expertise and experience with Constitutional law, Dr. Titus offers anyone who is willing to take his course the opportunity to be trained in every issue of public policy in our apostate culture that is trying to destroy the family.
We parents need to be educated on these issues so that we will not be deceived by the rhetoric of politicians who want your vote for their own prestige, power and purse. Parents need to be certain that they and their children will stand like Daniel, Shadrack, Meshack, Abednego, Mordecai and Esther. Parents need to be equipped by those whom the Holy Spirit appoints as teachers in the Body of Christ. Herb Titus is one of those teachers.
Dr. Titus knows the value God places upon a human life inside and outside the womb. He understands the family as the basic unit of every culture in every nation. He knows men are sinners and need Jesus Christ as their personal Lord, Savior, and friend. He knows that Christ's kingdom is supreme now and forever.
Our family has dedicated over 25 years to discipleship. Our lifestyle has been one of repentance and transformation as we have tried the best we know how to share the Biblical truths we have discovered in education with others; Biblical truths of conviction, content and relationship that God promises will grant success. Herb and Marilyn have now provided our family with an educational tool that is built solidly on the word of God and is economically and educationally designed for families. This course has the potential of generating a quiet 3rd American revolution - the movement of whole families into the Biblical government of our cities, states and nation.
This family seminar is designed for 4-10 people who wish to learn with other like-minded people and enjoy fellowship that can change the future. Couples and families have a discount price for multiple enrollees who desire to be part of a network of families who have been trained by the same teacher Applying the Common Law to every sphere of public policy and life.
We have included a short description of the 1st course for your perusal. We trust that you will discern this gift given to the Body of Christ at this crisis point in our nation. The cost per family is minimal. It is 50-75% less than any college course offering similar information; it requires one evening session; individual personal study; and one all day seminar.
The Founding Fathers were trained in these principles because they were taught in the home, in the church, and in the colleges to put God's Common Law first in every area of life. However, the schools, the church and the parents of the last 150 years have not known or understood these basic principles. Thus they were not passed down from generation to generation and very few in our society know these basic principles; even less can articulate them; and it is rare to find those who actually live by them!
Dr. Titus knows and believes, like we do, that education begins at home and ends at home, and he has provided an inexpensive way to train or re-educate families in the Common Law in language that a 12 year old can understand.
The local fee will be dedicated to a political action fund to host candidates' events during election seasons so that Christians have the opportunity to interview candidates and examine ballot issues before entering the voting booth. These candidates' nights will be open to the public so that neighbors, friends, relatives, and church family can attend. It is our hope that this seminar and candidates' events will be used by the Lord to find His statesmen who wish to serve the Lord with their gifts and talents within God's governmental structures (family, church, civil) of our state and nation as the Bible and the Constitutions of the US and Ohio dictate.
We parents need to obey God for our children, our grandchildren and our great grandchildren, should the Lord tarry.
Psalms 78:5
6. For He established a testimony in Jacob, And appointed a law in Israel, Which He commanded our fathers, That they should teach them to their children,
7. That the generation to come might know, {even} the children {yet} to be born, {That} they may arise and tell {them} to their children,
8. That they should put their confidence in God, And not forget the works of God, But keep His commandments,
9. And not be like their fathers, A stubborn and rebellious generation, A generation that did not prepare its heart, And whose spirit was not faithful to God.
We trust that you will give this letter prayerful consideration. We believe that our state has been given a unique place in our nation. We have the distinction of having the 1st Christian martyrs in our nation who were killed for refusing to participate in the war between England and the colonies. Whether we agree with their peaceful protest is not the issue. The issue is: Christian Indians who had been set free from the violence of hatred, murder, war and a very wicked lifestyle were ture to their conversion experience and obeyed Christ's teachings to their own death. They chose to love all men and gave their lives in obedience for what they believed to be true.
Ohio is the 1st and only state to have Jesus Christ's words as the state motto: "With God All Things Are Possible." We believe that these two gifts fo the true church have been established in this state. We have Christ's words of God as our motto and have fellow believers who gave their lives for their belief in the words of Christ.
It is now our time; it is our season of service and commitment to the Living Word and the written word. We trust that the Lord will call you to walk with us into a new place of Christian discipleship within our own sphere of influence. May we be equipped together so that we can let our light shine in the darkness of human social, educational, economical and political systems that are destroying the families of this nation. May many see our good works and glorify our Father who is in heaven and sovereign over all the nations of the earth.
In Genesis 18, we read concerning God's plans to reveal to Abraham what is about to happen to Sodom and Gomorrah:
Genesis 18:19
20. "For I have chosen him, so that he may command his children and his household after him to keep the way of the Lord by doing righteousness and justice, so that the Lord may bring upon Abraham what He has spoken about him."
Abraham is a Biblical example of a father, (his name means father of a great multitude). Therefore we can see that God determines to tell HIS fathers what is to come in the times we live in because they must instruct their families. Might this increase our faith to seek His plans for our families as we live in the midst of a perverse generation and must make decisions such as what we do in preparation for Y2K?
In reading Richard Wurmbrand's book, In God's Underground , we noticed an example of the subtle influence of education, even on children well taught at home. Mr. Wurmbrand relates a story of speaking with his son's friends at a time when Mr. Wurmbrand had been in prison for many years and was now free for a brief time. He tells us (Mihai is his son),
"Mihai was a Christian, with no love of Communism. But a song-bird with a nest near a family of crows will fall into discordant notes, and Mihai (his son) had heard little else. On the day after my return I had to tell him that he was mistaken in believing that the workers in capitalist countries were dying of hunger. His student friends took it for granted, and one girl told me that she had wept in school over the starving children of America." Page 198.
If you plan for one year, plant rice,
If you plan for 10 years, plant trees,
If you plan for 100 years, educate your children.
Maintain your holiness as if Jesus were coming tomorrow,
Educate your children as if He were not coming for centuries.
Parents say, "I don't have the patience to teach my children. I could never home education." Ask, "Do you love your children?" The Bible says that "Love is patient."
Are you a Christian who is working full-time in a secular job and feeling unfulfilled? Do find yourself struggling with thoughts of being inferior to those working in a church setting, as if their jobs were more "spiritual" or carried more significance? Do you wrestle with the idea that the only worthwhile ministries are those that are within the confines of the church? Are you hoping for the day when God places you in full-time church ministry in order to be fruitful for the Kingdom?
In his book, Secular Work is Full-Time Service , author Larry Peabody maintains that employment in a secular place can be a spiritually vital and fulfilling ministry in itself when viewed from the biblical perspective. This is accomplished superbly by applying Scripture to the reality of interpersonal relationships in the work world.
The very foundation of this book is built on the premise that in biblical Christianity, the secular cannot be separated from the sacred.
"In the New Testament God does not depict the Christian life as divided into sacred and secular parts. Rather, He shows it as a unified life, one of wholeness, in which we may single-mindedly serve Him, even in our everyday work(p. 17)."
Jesus is the perfect example of the sacred and the secular uniting. He, being God (sacred) came to earth and lived with ordinary men (secular).
The author attempts to expel the notion that gospel work is a "calling" whereas an ordinary job is just another duty performed in order to provide for one's needs. The example of Daniel is employed.
(Continued on Page 6)
"Daniel was a man 'highly esteemed' by God (Daniel 9 :23; 10: 11,19), and one through whom God revealed much of His future plan for His people. Yet the Bible does not record any dramatic call of God coming to Daniel which could be compared with the summoning of Paul the apostle (p. 22)."
This example of a man (Daniel) "called" by God only through circumstances and determining to serve God while at the same time working as a government official is used effectively throughout the book. Daniel's call to Babylon is easily compared to the calling of one into the secular world of employment.
Why are we referred to as "the light of the world" if not to shed our beaming brightness into a dark place? Should all of the light be in one place? If so, what will come of the darkness? This is the author's argument.
"God wants to use our ordinary jobs as lamp stands, light fixtures. Our work stations place us in positions of visibility (p. 32)."
He goes on to say,
"No, God does not want His people to huddle together away from the darkness. He wants us to be lights in the darkness (p. 32)."
In order for Jesus (the Light) to be seen through us we must be willing to continually die to ourselves in every area of life. A job in the world provides yet more opportunities to practice this, thus allowing Jesus to become ever more a part of us. The author expounds on this.
"God seeks to continue this same process in us through our experiences on the job. As we die to the self-life, the life of Christ increases within us. Take a man away from a rich source of experiences in which he may count himself dead to sin (In Christ's death) and alive to God's righteousness (in Christ's resurrection) (p. 38)."
The book Secular Work is Full-Time Service is both highly relevant and extremely useful to anyone who is called to the "ministry" of employment in the secular world of work.
Consider what public schools are teaching. Overt problems (e.g. sex ed) are not the only problems. Consider that they have trained a populace which:
a) 60+% believe that lying under oath is acceptable by a government official, even the highest officer in the land. Alternately, children have been trained in following the "crowd" to the point of believing TV news.
b) Most accept that a poll, with carefully selected multiple choice
questions, of 1000 people is the "democratic"
way for the "voice of the people" to be heard. Note that 1000 is 2 per
congressional district. Why not poll the congress? This was done in
the impeachment. Constitutionally, the house is to be the voice of the people!
Remember that the "crowd" decision crucified Jesus.

Do you understand why so-called social conservatives and fiscal conservatives can never be of one mind?
Do you understand how the nature of law was redefined in the past century and apply this understanding to statements from politicians, judges, and pundits concerning the issues of the day?
Do you understand the God-given nature of property, and how the American founders implemented a ground breaking vision of this understanding, and how it applies today?
The first course in the Family to Family Forum is ready and available in Ohio. The Family to Family Forum materials were prepared by Dr. Herb Titus , a honorable Christian legal scholar. Dr. Titus is a former law school professor and dean. He is sought after as a lawyer in constitutional cases and as a speaker.
The Family to Family Forum includes a seminar introduction, time for self study of material and an in depth seminar to clarify and discuss the material and apply what has been learned to case studies of current policy issues. The seminar goes beyond gaining knowledge of the truth and provides positive actions we can take in our families, communities, and nation. Seminars are designed to be kept small (4-10) in order to allow personal discussion, instruction and interaction. A course goal is to build a network of like minded, informed citizens.
Your seminar leader has studied Family to Family Forum with Dr. Titus and is licensed by the authors. Some who take the seminar may themselves know the call of God to become seminar leaders and, upon approval, participate in the critical task of educating families while deriving income from the time involved.
Your seminar leader is not a lawyer. Why is this? Dr. Titus has stated that "I've learned that law is too important to be left to the lawyers." Family to Family Forum is designed to bring a Christian understanding of the law and government to all citizens with a love of the truth!
