compiled by

Diane Rodd

May these covenant promises of the Lord encourage you and keep you "walking in faith and in love." "Covenant" needs to be believed and spoken as "THE BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST"; "Law" needs to be believed and practiced as "Law of Love and Liberty", being led by the Holy Spirit.

Some of these scriptures reveal the sovereign action of God that requires no human effort or intervention. Other verses seem to require belief and intercession. Confidence in the SOVEREIGNTY of GOD needs to be joined with FAITH in Holy Spirit-inspired intercession.

Hebrews 11:6
6. And without faith it is impossible to please {Him}, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and {that} He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.

James 2:20
20. But are you willing to recognize, you foolish fellow, that faith without works is useless?

Galatians 5:6
6. For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything, but faith working through love.

May the following covenant promises of the Lord encourage you and keep you "walking in faith and in love" no matter what events are swirling around you. "Covenant" is the belief in the power of the blood of Jesus Christ combined with the establishment of the law of Love and Liberty through submission to the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth, Who guides us into all truth. What you believe in your heart is to be spoken.

Some of these scriptures reveal the sovereign action of God that requires no human effort or intervention. Other verses seem to require belief and intercession. Confidence in the SOVEREIGNTY of the LOVE of GOD needs to be joined with FAITH in Holy Spirit-inspired intercession.

Romans 8:25
25. But if we hope for what we do not see, with perseverance we wait eagerly for it.
26. And in the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for {us} with groanings too deep for words;
27. and He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He intercedes for the saints according to {the will of} God.
28. And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.
29. For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the first-born among many brethren;
30. and whom He predestined, these He also called; and whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.
31. What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us?
32. He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things?
33. Who will bring a charge against God's elect? God is the one who justifies;
34. who is the one who condemns? Christ Jesus is He who died, yes, rather who was raised, who is at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us.
35. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
36. Just as it is written, #"\For Thy sake we are being put to death all day long\; \We were considered as sheep to be slaughtered.\"#
37. But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us.
38. For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers,
39. nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

SOVEREIGNTY

Know what God has done.

Deuteronomy 30:6
6. "Moreover the LORD your God will circumcise your heart and the heart of your descendants, to love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul, in order that you may live.

Romans 2:28
28. For he is not a Jew who is one outwardly; neither is circumcision that which is outward in the flesh.
29. But he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is that which is of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the letter; and his praise is not from men, but from God.

Colossians 2:8
8. See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to Christ.
9. For in Him all the fulness of Deity dwells in bodily form,
10. and in Him you have been made complete, and He is the head over all rule and authority;
11. and in Him you were also circumcised with a circumcision made without hands, in the removal of the body of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ;
12. having been buried with Him in baptism, in which you were also raised up with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead.
13. And when you were dead in your transgressions and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He made you alive together with Him, having forgiven us all our transgressions,
14. having canceled out the certificate of debt consisting of decrees against us and which was hostile to us; and He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.
15. When He had disarmed the rulers and authorities, He made a public display of them, having triumphed over them through Him.

Philippians 3:3
3. for we are the {true} circumcision, who worship in the Spirit of God and glory in Christ Jesus and put no confidence in the flesh,

I Thessalonians 4:9
9. Now as to the love of the brethren, you have no need for {anyone} to write to you, for you yourselves are taught by God to love one another;

FAITH: assurance, foundation, confirmation, the title deed, belief based on the "hoped for" promise or covenant of God; FAITH: doesn't need anything in the five senses for the conviction of this reality; FAITH: Believes and perceives God's word as the truth, the real fact, not what the five senses observe; FAITH: God calls into being what doesn't exist! FAITH: Does not waver in unbelief concerning the promises of God; FAITH: gives glory to God and grows strong; FAITH: Moves in steps from FAITH TO FAITH. 25. And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone; so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your transgressions.

Matthew 17:19
19. Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, "Why could we not cast it out?"
20. And He said to them, "Because of the littleness of your faith; for truly I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you shall say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it shall move; and nothing shall be impossible to you.

13. "But you said in your heart, 'I will ascend to heaven; I will raise my throne above the stars of God, and I will sit on the mount of assembly In the recesses of the north.
14. I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.'
15. "Nevertheless you will be thrust down to Sheol, to the recesses of the pit.
16. Those who see you will gaze at you, they will ponder over you, {saying,} 'Is this the man who made the earth tremble, who shook kingdoms,

Ephesians 3:8

10. in order that the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known through the church to the rulers and the authorities in the heavenly {places.}
11. {This was} in accordance with the eternal purpose which He carried out in Christ Jesus our Lord,
12. in whom we have boldness and confident access through faith in Him.

16. He who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved; but he who has disbelieved shall be condemned.
17. And these signs will accompany those who have believed: in My name they will cast out demons, they will speak with new tongues;
18. they will pick up serpents, and if they drink any deadly {poison,} it shall not hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.
19. So then, when the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God.
20. And they went out and preached everywhere, while the Lord worked with them, and confirmed the word by the signs that followed.] [{And they promptly reported all these instructions to Peter and his companions. Ephesians 1:16
16. I do not cease giving thanks for you, while making mention {of you} in my prayers;
17. that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him.
18. {I pray that} the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,
19. and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe. {These are} in accordance with the working of the strength of His might
20. which He brought about in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead, and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly {places},
21. far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age, but also in the one to come.

11. Believe Me that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me; otherwise believe on account of the works themselves.
12. Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater {works} than these shall he do; because I go to the Father.
13. And whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
14. If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do {it.}
15. If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.
16. And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever;"

7. or 'Who will descend into the abyss?' (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). "
8. But what does it say? "The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart"-- that is, the word of faith which we are preaching,
9. that if you confess with your mouth Jesus {as} Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved;
10. for with the heart man believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.
11. For the Scripture says, "Whoever believes in Him will not be disappointed."

3. Which we have heard and known, And our fathers have told us.
4. We will not conceal them from their children, But tell to the generation to come the praises of the LORD, and His strength and His wondrous works that He has done.
5. For He established a testimony in Jacob, and appointed a law in Israel, Which He commanded our fathers, that they should teach them to their children,
6. That the generation to come might know, {even} the children {yet} to be born, {that} they may arise and tell {them} to their children,

15. but like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves also in all {your} behavior;
16. because it is written, "You shall be holy, for I am holy."
17. And if you address as Father the One who impartially judges according to each man's work, conduct yourselves in fear during the time of your stay {upon earth};
18. knowing that you were not redeemed with perishable things like silver or gold from your futile way of life inherited from your forefathers,
19. but with precious blood, as of a lamb unblemished and spotless, {the blood} of Christ.
20. For He was foreknown before the foundation of the world, but has appeared in these last times for the sake of you
21. who through Him are believers in God, who raised Him from the dead and gave Him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God.

38. And they shall be My people, and I will be their God;
39. and I will give them one heart and one way, that they may fear Me always, for their own good, and for {the good of} their children after them.
40. And I will make an everlasting covenant with them that I will not turn away from them, to do them good; and I will put the fear of Me in their hearts so that they will not turn away from Me.
41. And I will rejoice over them to do them good, and I will faithfully plant them in this land with all My heart and with all My soul.'
42. "For thus says the LORD, 'Just as I brought all this great disaster on this people, so I am going to bring on them all the good that I am promising them.

UNITY

Learning to Love God and embrace His Lordship together

Philippians 1:27

28. in no way alarmed by {your} opponents-- which is a sign of destruction for them, but of salvation for you, and that {too}, from God.
29. For to you it has been granted for Christ's sake, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake,
30. experiencing the same conflict which you saw in me, and now hear {to be} in me.

Philippians 2:1
1. If therefore there is any encouragement in Christ, if there is any consolation of love, if there is any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and compassion,
2. make my joy complete by being of the same mind, maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose.
3. Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind let each of you regard one another as more important than himself;
4. do not {merely} look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others.
5. Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus,
6. who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped,
7. but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, {and} being made in the likeness of men.
8. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.
9. Therefore also God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name,
10. that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those who are in heaven, and on earth, and under the earth,
11. and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
12. So then, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your salvation with fear and trembling;
13. for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for {His} good pleasure.
14. Do all things without grumbling or disputing;
15. that you may prove yourselves to be blameless and innocent, children of God above reproach in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you appear as lights in the world,
16. holding fast the word of life, so that in the day of Christ I may have cause to glory because I did not run in vain nor toil in vain.

II Corinthians 5:14
14. For the love of Christ controls us, having concluded this, that one died for all, therefore all died;
15. and He died for all, that they who live should no longer live for themselves, but for Him who died and rose again on their behalf.
16. Therefore from now on we recognize no man according to the flesh; even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know {Him} {thus} no longer.
17. Therefore if any man is in Christ, {he is} a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.
18. Now all {these} things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ, and gave us the ministry of reconciliation,
19. namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and He has committed to us the word of reconciliation.
20. Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were entreating through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.
21. He made Him who knew no sin {to be} sin on our behalf, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

Psalms 20:1
1. (For the choir director. A Psalm of David.) May the LORD answer you in the day of trouble! May the name of the God of Jacob set you {securely} on high!
2. May He send you help from the sanctuary, and support you from Zion!
3. May He remember all your meal offerings, and find your burnt offering acceptable! Selah.
4. May He grant you your heart's desire, and fulfill all your counsel!
5. We will sing for joy over your victory, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners. May the LORD fulfill all your petitions.
6. Now I know that the LORD saves His anointed; He will answer him from His holy heaven, with the saving strength of His right hand.
7. Some {boast} in chariots, and some in horses; but we will boast in the name of the LORD, our God.
8. They have bowed down and fallen; but we have risen and stood upright.
9. Save, O LORD; May the King answer us in the day we call.

Matthew 11:28
28. "Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.
29. Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you shall find rest for your souls.
30. For My yoke is easy, and My load is light."

Romans 15:5
5. Now may the God who gives perseverance and encouragement grant you to be of the same mind with one another according to Christ Jesus;
6. that with one accord you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
7. Wherefore, accept one another, just as Christ also accepted us to the glory of God.
