Seek Me

That You May Live

by

Diane Rodd

The purpose of this booklet is to magnify the descriptions of Jesus Christ as revealed in the Bible. Artistic visual portrayals of Jesus fall short of the glory of God. Thus this study is our attempt to examine the scriptures which command us "to seek the face of the Lord" and then to read the actual descriptions of those who saw the Lord's face.

Seek Me

That You May Live

The purpose of this booklet is to magnify the descriptions of Jesus Christ as revealed in the Bible. Artistic visual portrayals of Jesus fall short of the glory of God. Thus this study is our attempt to examine the scriptures which command us "to seek the face of the Lord" and then to read the actual descriptions of those who saw the Lord's face.

Amos 5:4
4. For thus says the Lord to the house of Israel, "Seek Me that you may live.
5. "But do not resort to Bethel, and do not come to Gilgal, nor cross over to Beersheba; for Gilgal will certainly go into captivity, and Bethel will come to trouble.
6. "Seek the Lord that you may live, lest He break forth like a fire, O house of Joseph, and it consume with none to quench {it} for Bethel,
7. {For} those who turn justice into wormwood and cast righteousness down to the earth. "

The Lord says, "SEEK ME that you may live."

Zephaniah 2:1
1. Gather yourselves together, yes, gather, O nation without shame,
2. Before the decree takes effect-- The day passes like the chaff-- Before the burning anger of the Lord comes upon you, Before the day of the LORD'S anger comes upon you.
3. Seek the Lord, all you humble of the earth who have carried out His ordinances; seek righteousness, seek humility. Perhaps you will be hidden In the day of the LORD'S anger.

The Word says,

  1. The humble: those who love Jesus and obey Him and have no shame(The BLOOD).
  2. SEEK THE LORD! - "I want more of You, Lord."
  3. Seek righteousness - "More Lord! THERE'S ALWAYS MORE, MORE, MORE of YOU."
  4. Seek humility - "More of You, Lord! I want less, less, less of me."

Hosea 10:12
12. Sow with a view to righteousness, reap in accordance with kindness; Break up your fallow ground, for it is time to seek the Lord until He comes to rain righteousness on you.

The Lord says,

Sow the righteousness that We have given you.
  1. Reap the kindness that We have given you.
  2. Break up my own ground to receive God's rain of righteousness.
  3. SEEK THE LORD until...
  4. Your ground receives the rain of righteousness that will bring forth Our harvest.

Malachi 3:1
1. "Behold, I am going to send My messenger, and he will clear the way before Me. And the Lord, whom you seek, will suddenly come to His temple; and the messenger of the covenant, in whom you delight, behold, He is coming," says the Lord of hosts.
2. But who can endure the day of His coming? And who can stand when He appears? For He is like a refiner's fire and like fullers' soap.
3. And He will sit as a smelter and purifier of silver, and He will purify the sons of Levi and refine them like gold and silver, so that they may present to the Lord offerings in righteousness.
4. Then the offering of Judah and Jerusalem will be pleasing to the LORD, as in the days of old and as in former years.
5. "Then I will draw near to you for judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers and against the adulterers and against those who swear falsely, and against those who oppress the wage earner in his wages, the widow and the orphan, and those who turn aside the alien, and do not fear Me," says the Lord of hosts.

Lamentations 3:21
21. This I recall to my mind, Therefore I have hope.
22. The LORD's lovingkindnesses indeed never cease, for His compassions never fail.
23. {They} are new every morning; great is Thy faithfulness.
24. "The Lord is my portion," says my soul, "Therefore I have hope in Him."

Matthew 6:30
30. "But if God so arrays the grass of the field, which is {alive} today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, {will He} not much more {do so for} you, O men of little faith?
31. "Do not be anxious then, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'With what shall we clothe ourselves?'
32. "For all these things the Gentiles eagerly seek; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.
33. "But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added to you.
34. "Therefore do not be anxious for tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. {Each} day has enough trouble of its own.

JESUS says, "SEEK first HIS KINGDOM, HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS."

  1. I will not be anxious over food, water or clothes.
  2. I have great faith because God has given me the measure of HIS FAITH and Faith grows.

    Romans 12:1
    1. I urge you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, {which is} your spiritual service of worship.
    2. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.
    3. For through the grace given to me I say to every man among you not to think more highly of himself than he ought to think; but to think so as to have sound judgment, as God has allotted to each a measure of faith.

    Romans 4:20
    20. yet, with respect to the promise of God, he did not waver in unbelief, but grew strong in faith, giving glory to God,

Matthew 7:6
6. "Do not give what is holy to dogs, and do not throw your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces.
7. Ask, and it shall be given to you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened to you.
8. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it shall be opened.
9. Or what man is there among you, when his son shall ask him for a loaf, will give him a stone?
10. Or if he shall ask for a fish, he will not give him a snake, will he?
11. If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall your Father who is in heaven give what is good to those who ask Him!
12. Therefore, however you want people to treat you, so treat them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.
13. Enter by the narrow gate; for the gate is wide, and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and many are those who enter by it.
14. For the gate is small, and the way is narrow that leads to life, and few are those who find it.

JESUS teaches and I learn.

  1. I will not throw what is holy to dogs. Jesus will show me what is holy and with whom I am to share.
  2. I will not give pearls to swine. Jesus will show me His pearls and with whom I am to share.

  15. I am one that finds abundant life.

Luke 13:22
22. And He was passing through from one city and village to another, teaching, and proceeding on His way to Jerusalem.
23. And someone said to Him, "Lord, are there {just} a few who are being saved?" And He said to them,
24. "Strive to enter by the narrow door; for many, I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able.
25. Once the head of the house gets up and shuts the door, and you begin to stand outside and knock on the door, saying, 'Lord, open up to us!' then He will answer and say to you,' I do not know where you are from. '
26. "Then you will begin to say, 'We ate and drank in Your presence, and You taught in our streets';
27. and He will say, 'I tell you, I do not know where you are from; depart from Me, all you evildoers.'
28. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth there when you see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, but yourselves being cast out.
29. And they will come from east and west, and from north and south, and will recline {at the table} in the kingdom of God.
30. And behold, {some} are last who will be first and {some} are first who will be last."

JESUS teaches and I learn from Him.

  1. I strive to enter the narrow door that Jesus has opened.
  2. I do wish to walk through the open door when I knock on it and Jesus opens it.
  3. I do not wish to knock on the door, have Jesus open it and stand outside and refuse to come in where He is.
  4. I do not wish to see the door closed to never open to me again.
  5. Jesus has come to me.
  6. The Holy Spirit has been given to me.
  7. I experience the presence of the Lord because He has come to me.
  8. I want to go to where He is.

II Chronicles 7:13
13. "If I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or if I command the locust to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among My people,
14. and My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray, and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

GOD says, "You, ___________________________ , are My child."

  1. I am His child. I am a child of God. He calls my name, and He speaks to me.

5. He shall receive a blessing from the Lord and righteousness from the God of his salvation.
6. This is the generation of those who seek Him, who seek Thy face-- {even} Jacob. Selah.

I CAN SEEK THE FACE OF GOD because THE BLOOD OF CHRIST SPEAKS FROM HEAVEN.

I am continually and forever blessed. I am righteous.

5. For in the day of trouble He will conceal me in His tabernacle; in the secret place of His tent He will hide me; He will lift me up on a rock.
6. And now my head will be lifted up above my enemies around me; and I will offer in His tent sacrifices with shouts of joy; I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the LORD.
7. Hear, O LORD, when I cry with my voice, and be gracious to me and answer me.

Descriptions of JESUS in the Old Testament

Ezekiel 1:26
26. Now above the expanse that was over their heads there was something resembling a throne, like lapis lazuli in appearance; and on that which resembled a throne, high up, {was} a figure with the appearance of a man.
27. Then I noticed from the appearance of His loins and upward something like glowing metal that looked like fire all around within it, and from the appearance of His loins and downward I saw something like fire; and {there was} a radiance around Him.
28. As the appearance of the rainbow in the clouds on a rainy day, so {was} the appearance of the surrounding radiance. Such {was} the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the LORD. And when I saw {it,} I fell on my face and heard a voice speaking.

Ezekiel's Biblical description of JESUS is

  1. A man glowing like fire, like glowing metal(bright yellow, red/orange);
  2. A radiance around this man with all the colors of a rainbow-violet, indigo, blue, green, yellow, orange, red.
  3. He is sitting on a seat (deep blue) of honor(throne {high; over all; nothing is above it; all else is beneath it}).
Daniel's Biblical description of JESUS is:

Daniel 7:9
9. "I kept looking Until thrones were set up, and the Ancient of Days took {His} seat; His vesture {was} like white snow, and the hair of His head like pure wool. His throne {was} ablaze with flames, Its wheels {were} a burning fire.
10. A river of fire was flowing and coming out from before Him; thousands upon thousands were attending Him, and myriads upon myriads were standing before Him; the court sat, and the books were opened.

  1. The clothes of JESUS are white - white like new sparkling snow reflecting the sun.
  2. The hair on JESUS' head is white - white like pure wool.
  3. JESUS' seat of honor (deep blue) is ablaze with flames of fire (perhaps like the deep blue of a gas flame with some yellow, orange and red).
  4. JESUS' seat of honor has burning wheels of fire (wheels move and turn). Does this imply a throne that moves?
  5. A river of fire, liquid fire like the hot magma of a volcano flows out before JESUS.
  6. Thousands serve JESUS.
  7. Myriads stand before JESUS.
Another Biblical description of JESUS by Daniel:

Daniel 10:5
5. I lifted my eyes and looked, and behold, there was a certain man dressed in linen, whose waist was girded with {a belt of} pure gold of Uphaz.
6. His body also was like beryl, His face had the appearance of lightning, His eyes were like flaming torches, His arms and feet like the gleam of polished bronze, and the sound of his words like the sound of a tumult.

  1. JESUS is dressed in linen (white {pure, glistening}).
  2. JESUS has a belt of pure gold around His waist.
  3. The body of JESUS is like beryl: aquamarine(pale blue-green), emerald(deep green), golden yellow (heliodore), pink(morganite).
  4. The FACE of JESUS CHRIST is like LIGHTNING(electricity {white and flashing}).
  5. The EYES of JESUS CHRIST are like flaming torches(FIRE{yellow and orange).
  6. The ARMS and FEET of JESUS CHRIST are the color of polished bronze(brass) - gleaming bright yellowish brown.
  7. The VOICE of JESUS is like the "roar" of Niagra Falls.
The following New Testament scriptures describe the "face" of Jesus Christ, our Lord when He was transfigured.

Luke 9:29
29. And while He was praying, the appearance of His face became different, and His clothing {became} white {and} gleaming.

  1. The human FACE of JESUS CHRIST changed (remember Moses' face).
  2. His clothing is white and gleaming (bright).

Matthew 17:2
2. And He was transfigured before them; and His face shone like the sun, and His garments became as white as light.

  1. The face of JESUS CHRIST shines like the sun (bright, gleaming {yellow/white}).
  2. The garments of Jesus are white like light.
Mary Magdalene was the first to see the RISEN LORD JESUS CHRIST.

Mark 16:9
9. [Now after He had risen early on the first day of the week, He first appeared to Mary Magdalene, from whom He had cast out seven demons.
10. She went and reported to those who had been with Him, while they were mourning and weeping.
11. And when they heard that He was alive, and had been seen by her, they refused to believe it.

Peter and his companion saw the linen wrappings, the face cloth, the empty tomb but did not understand because they did not "see" the RISEN LORD JESUS CHRIST.

John 20:3
3. Peter therefore went forth, and the other disciple, and they were going to the tomb.
4. And the two were running together; and the other disciple ran ahead faster than Peter, and came to the tomb first;
5. and stooping and looking in, he *saw the linen wrappings lying {there;} but he did not go in.
6. Simon Peter therefore also *came, following him, and entered the tomb; and he *beheld the linen wrappings lying {there,}
7. and the face-cloth, which had been on His head, not lying with the linen wrappings, but rolled up in a place by itself.
8. So the other disciple who had first come to the tomb entered then also, and he saw and believed.
9. For as yet they did not understand the Scripture, that He must rise again from the dead.
10. So the disciples went away again to their own homes.

Mary Magdalene stayed at the empty tomb, and a woman was the first to see the RISEN LORD JESUS CHRIST.

John 20:14
14. When she had said this, she turned around, and beheld Jesus standing {there,} and did not know that it was Jesus.
15. Jesus said to her, "Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking?" Supposing Him to be the gardener, she said to Him, "Sir, if you have carried Him away, tell me where you have laid Him, and I will take Him away."
16. Jesus said to her, "Mary!" She turned and said to Him in Hebrew, "Rabboni!" (which means, Teacher).
17. Jesus said to her, "Stop clinging to Me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father; but go to My brethren, and say to them, 'I ascend to My Father and your Father, and My God and your God.'"
18. Mary Magdalene *came, announcing to the disciples, "I have seen the Lord," and {that} He had said these things to her.

Mary Magdalene and the other Mary saw the RISEN LORD JESUS CHRIST.

Matthew 28:9
9. And behold, Jesus met them and greeted them. And they came up and took hold of His feet and worshiped Him.
10. Then Jesus said to them, "Do not be afraid; go and take word to My brethren to leave for Galilee, and there they shall see Me."

Mary Magdalene, Mary, Joanna, and other women saw the RISEN LORD JESUS CHRIST, and some would not believe them.

Luke 24:10
10. Now they were Mary Magdalene and Joanna and Mary the {mother} of James; also the other women with them were telling these things to the apostles.
11. And these words appeared to them as nonsense, and they would not believe them.

The two on the road to Emmaus saw the RISEN LORD JESUS CHRIST when their eyes were opened, and some did not believe them.

Mark 16:12
12. And after that, He appeared in a different form to two of them, while they were walking along on their way to the country.
13. And they went away and reported it to the others, but they did not believe them either.

Luke 24:13
13. And behold, two of them were going that very day to a village named Emmaus, which was about seven miles from Jerusalem.
14. And they were conversing with each other about all these things which had taken place.
15. And it came about that while they were conversing and discussing, Jesus Himself approached, and {began} traveling with them.
16. But their eyes were prevented from recognizing Him.
17. And He said to them, "What are these words that you are exchanging with one another as you are walking?" And they stood still, looking sad.
18. And one of them, named Cleopas, answered and said to Him, "Are You the only one visiting Jerusalem and unaware of the things which have happened here in these days?"
19. And He said to them, "What things?" And they said to Him, "The things about Jesus the Nazarene, who was a prophet mighty in deed and word in the sight of God and all the people,
20. and how the chief priests and our rulers delivered Him up to the sentence of death, and crucified Him.
21. But we were hoping that it was He who was going to redeem Israel. Indeed, besides all this, it is the third day since these things happened.
22. But also some women among us amazed us. When they were at the tomb early in the morning,
23. and did not find His body, they came, saying that they had also seen a vision of angels, who said that He was alive.
24. And some of those who were with us went to the tomb and found it just exactly as the women also had said; but Him they did not see."
25. And He said to them, "O foolish men and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken!
26. Was it not necessary for the Christ to suffer these things and to enter into His glory?"
27. And beginning with Moses and with all the prophets, He explained to them the things concerning Himself in all the Scriptures.
28. And they approached the village where they were going, and He acted as though He would go farther.
29. And they urged Him, saying, "Stay with us, for it is {getting} toward evening, and the day is now nearly over." And He went in to stay with them.
30. And it came about that when He had reclined {at the table} with them, He took the bread and blessed {it,} and breaking {it,} He {began} giving {it} to them.
31. And their eyes were opened and they recognized Him; and He vanished from their sight.
32. And they said to one another, "Were not our hearts burning within us while He was speaking to us on the road, while He was explaining the Scriptures to us?"

The disciples saw the RISEN LORD JESUS CHRIST, and some were doubtful.

Matthew 28:16
16. But the eleven disciples proceeded to Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had designated.
17. And when they saw Him, they worshiped {Him}; but some were doubtful.

Jesus reproached those who had hard hearts of unbelief.

Mark 16:14
14. And afterward He appeared to the eleven themselves as they were reclining {at the table;} and He reproached them for their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they had not believed those who had seen Him after He had risen.

Cleopas and his traveling companion, the eleven disciples and others who were gathered together saw the RISEN LORD JESUS CHRIST. They were startled and frightened and mistook the flesh and bones of the RISEN LORD JESUS CHRIST as a spirit. Their hearts are troubled and doubt arises from within their hearts. JOY is so intense they marvel and could not believe. They needed their minds opened to understand the scriptures.

Luke 24:33
33. And they arose that very hour and returned to Jerusalem, and found gathered together the eleven and those who were with them,
34. saying, "The Lord has really risen, and has appeared to Simon."
35. And they {began} to relate their experiences on the road and how He was recognized by them in the breaking of the bread.
36. And while they were telling these things, He Himself stood in their midst.
37. But they were startled and frightened and thought that they were seeing a spirit.
38. And He said to them, "Why are you troubled, and why do doubts arise in your hearts?
39. "See My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself; touch Me and see, for a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see that I have."
40. [And when He had said this, He showed them His hands and His feet.]
41. And while they still could not believe {it} for joy and were marveling, He said to them, "Have you anything here to eat?"
42. And they gave Him a piece of a broiled fish;
43. and He took it and ate {it} before them.
44. Now He said to them, "These are My words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things which are written about Me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled."
45. Then He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures,

The NEW COVENANT brought a change: Jesus can persuade men (remember Paul).

Luke 16:30
30. "But he said, 'No, Father Abraham, but if someone goes to them from the dead, they will repent!'
31. "But he said to him, 'If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, neither will they be persuaded if someone rises from the dead.'"

Those who believed saw the RISEN LORD again, and HE breathed on them and told them to RECEIVE the HOLY SPIRIT.

John 20:19
19. When therefore it was evening, on that day, the first {day} of the week, and when the doors were shut where the disciples were, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in their midst, and *said to them, "Peace {be} with you."
20. And when He had said this, He showed them both His hands and His side. The disciples therefore rejoiced when they saw the Lord.
21. Jesus therefore said to them again, "Peace {be} with you; as the Father has sent Me, I also send you."
22. And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and *said to them, "Receive the Holy Spirit.
23. "If you forgive the sins of any, {their sins} have been forgiven them; if you retain the {sins} of any, they have been retained."

Thomas was not there for this appearance of the RISEN LORD JESUS CHRIST, and he did not believe.

John 20:24
24. But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came.
25. The other disciples therefore were saying to him, "We have seen the Lord!" But he said to them, "Unless I shall see in His hands the imprint of the nails, and put my finger into the place of the nails, and put my hand into His side, I will not believe."
26. And after eight days again His disciples were inside, and Thomas with them. Jesus came, the doors having been shut, and stood in their midst, and said, "Peace {be} with you."
27. Then He *said to Thomas, "Reach here your finger, and see My hands; and reach here your hand, and put it into My side; and be not unbelieving, but believing."
28. Thomas answered and said to Him, "My Lord and my God!"
29. Jesus *said to him, "Because you have seen Me, have you believed? Blessed {are} they who did not see, and {yet} believed."

Thomas saw and felt where the nails pierced Jesus' hands and the sword slashed His side. Jesus speaks to the unbelieving one to believe. The blessed are those who believe another's report without seeing Jesus personally.

After they had seen the RISEN LORD JESUS CHRIST twice, the disciples went back to fishing. The RISEN LORD JESUS CHRIST manifested Himself a third time to the disciples.

John 21:4
4. But when the day was now breaking, Jesus stood on the beach; yet the disciples did not know that it was Jesus.

When one of the disciples "hears" the voice of Jesus, he knows it is the Lord.

John 21:5
5. Jesus therefore *said to them, "Children, you do not have any fish, do you?" They answered Him, "No."
6. And He said to them, "Cast the net on the right-hand side of the boat, and you will find {a catch}." They cast therefore, and then they were not able to haul it in because of the great number of fish.
7. That disciple therefore whom Jesus loved *said to Peter, "It is the Lord." And so when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he put his outer garment on (for he was stripped {for work}), and threw himself into the sea.
8. But the other disciples came in the little boat, for they were not far from the land, but about one hundred yards away, dragging the net {full} of fish.

The RISEN LORD JESUS CHRIST cooked the breakfast of those who did not know or recognize Him.

John 21:9
9. And so when they got out upon the land, they saw a charcoal fire {already} laid, and fish placed on it, and bread.

The RISEN LORD JESUS CHRIST spent forty days convincing, appearing, and teaching them to believe.

Acts 1:3
3. To these He also presented Himself alive, after His suffering, by many convincing proofs, appearing to them over {a period of} forty days, and speaking of the things concerning the kingdom of God.
4. And gathering them together, He commanded them not to leave Jerusalem, but to wait for what the Father had promised, "Which," {He said,} "you heard of from Me;
5. for John baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now. "

Saul of Tarsus saw JESUS CHRIST, the ASCENDED ONE

Acts 9:3
3. And it came about that as he journeyed, he was approaching Damascus, and suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him;
4. and he fell to the ground, and heard a voice saying to him, "Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?"
5. And he said, "Who art Thou, Lord?" And He {said,} "I am Jesus whom you are persecuting,
6. but rise, and enter the city, and it shall be told you what you must do.
7. And the men who traveled with him stood speechless, hearing the voice, but seeing no one.
8. And Saul got up from the ground, and though his eyes were open, he could see nothing; and leading him by the hand, they brought him into Damascus.
9. And he was three days without sight, and neither ate nor drank.

While blinded, Saul "saw" visions in fulfillment of Joel 2:28-32 explained in Acts 2:17-21.

Acts 9:17
17. And Ananias departed and entered the house, and after laying his hands on him said, "Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus, who appeared to you on the road by which you were coming, has sent me so that you may regain your sight, and be filled with the Holy Spirit."
18. And immediately there fell from his eyes something like scales, and he regained his sight, and he arose and was baptized;
19. and he took food and was strengthened. Now for several days he was with the disciples who were at Damascus,
20. and immediately he {began} to proclaim Jesus in the synagogues, saying, "He is the Son of God."
21. And all those hearing him continued to be amazed, and were saying, "Is this not he who in Jerusalem destroyed those who called on this name, and {who} had come here for the purpose of bringing them bound before the chief priests?"
22. But Saul kept increasing in strength and confounding the Jews who lived at Damascus by proving that this {Jesus} is the Christ.

John saw the ASCENDED LORD JESUS CHRIST. His description is like that of Ezekiel and Daniel.

Revelation 1:12
12. And I turned to see the voice that was speaking with me. And having turned I saw seven golden lampstands;
13. and in the middle of the lampstands one like a son of man, clothed in a robe reaching to the feet, and girded across His breast with a golden girdle.
14. And His head and His hair were white like white wool, like snow; and His eyes were like a flame of fire;
15. and His feet {were} like burnished bronze, when it has been caused to glow in a furnace, and His voice {was} like the sound of many waters.
16. And in His right hand He held seven stars; and out of His mouth came a sharp two-edged sword; and His face was like the sun shining in its strength.
17. And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as a dead man. And He laid His right hand upon me, saying, "Do not be afraid; I am the first and the last,
18. and the living One; and I was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of death and of Hades.

  1. The ASCENDED LORD JESUS CHRIST wears a robe (white).
  2. The feet of the ASCENDED LORD JESUS CHRIST can be seen.
  3. Across the breast (chest) of the ASCENDED LORD JESUS CHRIST is a golden girdle (a belt of gold).
  4. The HEAD AND HAIR of the ASCENDED LORD JESUS CHRIST are white like white wool, like pure new snow.
  5. The EYES of the ASCENDED LORD JESUS CHRIST are like a flame of fire.
  6. The feet of ASCENDED LORD JESUS CHRIST are like burnished bronze glowing in a hot furnace (fire).
  7. The voice of ASCENDED LORD JESUS CHRIST is like the sound of many waters (Niagra Falls).
  8. The right hand of the ASCENDED LORD JESUS CHRIST holds seven stars(angels).
  9. A sharp two-edged sword (the Word of God) comes out of the mouth of the ASCENDED LORD JESUS CHRIST.
  10. The FACE of the ASCENDED LORD JESUS CHRIST shines like the sun in its full strength - very hot and extremely bright (white).

Revelation 2:18
18. "And to the angel of the church in Thyatira write: The Son of God, who has eyes like a flame of fire, and His feet are like burnished bronze, says this:

  1. The ASCENDED LORD JESUS CHRIST, THE SON OF GOD, has EYES like a flame of fire.
  2. The feet of the ASCENDED LORD JESUS CHRIST are burnished bronze (gleaming).
Job "saw" the Lord.

Job 42:5
5. "I have heard of Thee by the hearing of the ear; But now my eye sees Thee;
6. Therefore I retract, and I repent in dust and ashes."

Isaiah "saw" the Lord

Isaiah 6:1
1. In the year of King Uzziah's death, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, lofty and exalted, with the train of His robe filling the temple.
2. Seraphim stood above Him, each having six wings; with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew.
3. And one called out to another and said, "Holy, Holy, Holy, is the LORD of hosts, the whole earth is full of His glory."
4. And the foundations of the thresholds trembled at the voice of him who called out, while the temple was filling with smoke.
5. Then I said, "Woe is me, for I am ruined! Because I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips; For my eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts."
6. Then one of the seraphim flew to me, with a burning coal in his hand which he had taken from the altar with tongs.

  1. The Lord sits on a lofty, exalted throne.
  2. The train of His robe fills the whole temple.
Am I still willing to seek the Lord and live? Yes[] No[] Am I still willing to seek the His face and live? Yes[] No[]

EVANGELISM

Zechariah 8:20
20. "Thus says the Lord of hosts, '{It will} yet {be} that peoples will come, even the inhabitants of many cities.
21. 'And the inhabitants of one will go to another saying, "Let us go at once to entreat the favor of the LORD, and to seek the Lord of hosts; I will also go."
22. 'So many peoples and mighty nations will come to seek the Lord of hosts in Jerusalem and to entreat the favor of the Lord.'
23. "Thus says the Lord of hosts, 'In those days ten men from all the nations will grasp the garment of a Jew saying," Let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you. "'"

Acts 15:15
15. "And with this the words of the Prophets agree, just as it is written,
16. 'After these things I will return, and I will rebuild the tabernacle of David which has fallen, and I will rebuild its ruins, and I will restore it,
17. In order that the rest of mankind may seek the Lord, and all the Gentiles who are called by My name,'
18. Says the Lord, who makes these things known from of old.

Acts 17:24
24. "The God who made the world and all things in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands;
25. neither is He served by human hands, as though He needed anything, since He Himself gives to all life and breath and all things;
26. and He made from one, every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined {their} appointed times, and the boundaries of their habitation,
27. that they should seek God, if perhaps they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us;
28. for in Him we live and move and exist, as even some of your own poets have said, 'For we also are His offspring.'
29. Being then the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Divine Nature is like gold or silver or stone, an image formed by the art and thought of man.
30. Therefore having overlooked the times of ignorance, God is now declaring to men that all everywhere should repent,
31. because He has fixed a day in which He will judge the world in righteousness through a Man whom He has appointed, having furnished proof to all men by raising Him from the dead. "

Jesus teaches,

Matthew 7:7
7. "Ask, and it shall be given to you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened to you.
8. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it shall be opened.

The writer of Hebrews teaches,

Hebrews 11:6
6. And without faith it is impossible to please {Him}, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and {that} He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.

Jesus teaches,

Matthew 5:8
8. "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God."
